InVitro Fertilization - Reasons

There are many different reasons why one would consider invitro fertilization as a method to pursue conception.

In Vitro Fertilization gives many couples the opportunity to overcome infertility caused by many factors. Some of the most common causes of infertility in women are damaged or blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, and hormonal imbalance. In men, low sperm count is a common cause of infertility. In Vitro Fertilization is one of many non-traditional conception methods. Here are some reasons that one may choose IVF over these other methods, specifically tubal surgery.

If you have severe tubal damage or disease to the area, most doctors recommend in vitro fertilization, as opposed to tubal surgery. If you have a history of damage to the fallopian tubes, IVF may be right for you. Also, if you've tried other types of infertility treatment without success, IVF gives you another opportunity. Also, the risk of extopic pregnancy (also known as tubal pregnancy) is low (only 1%). Please consult the Center for Fertility and Gynecology to find out more about in-vitro fertilization and whether it's a viable option for you.
